学术报告

　　Professor Gonghui Wang is the director of Research Center for Landslide Disaster Risk Cognition and Reduction at Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University. He also works as the chair of JTC1 (Joint Technical Committee on landslides on natural slopes) of The Federation of International Geo-Engineering Societies (FedIGS). He has been focusing on landslide dynamics and risk assessment from the perspectives of geophysics, geotechnics, engineering geology, and hydrology. His research topics mainly include (1) earth surface processes on loess plateau, (2) rapid and long-travel movement of fluidized landslides, (3) Analysis and mitigation of reactivated large landslides, (4) landsliding phenomena under abnormal weather condition, (5) stability analysis of landslide dam, (6) long-term seismic monitoring and landslide risk assessment during earthquake. He held the title of guest professor of China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Lanzhou University, Chang’an University, and Chengdu University of Technology and Science. He works as the editors of several international journals, such as Engineering Geology, Landslides, Geography Journal, Geosciences, etc., and also some Japanese and Chinese journals. He has published more than 240 papers in international journals, books and others.
