他是多场耦合非线性力学专家,开创了多场耦合超导电磁固体力学,拓展了沙尘暴风沙电多场耦合研究,创立了多场强耦合的分场降阶迭代法和求解强非线性问题的通用小波封闭方法等。独立撰写的《Wavelet Numerical Method and Its Applications in Nonlinear Problem》作为计算方法的工程应用丛书被Springer-Nature出版,撰写的《电磁固体结构力学》(周又和、郑晓静)获国家科学著作出版基金由科学出版社出版,独立编著的《理论力学》由高度教育出版社出版,独立撰写的百万字《超导电磁固体力学》(上、下册)将由科学出版社出版。科研成果获国家自然科学二等奖2项(1/3; 2/2)、国家科技进步二等奖1项(7/10)、教育部自然科学一等奖2项和技术发明一等奖1项(均为第一完成人)、甘肃省科技进步一等奖1项和二等奖3项,以及IEEE超导委员会授予的Von Duzer Prize 1次等;主持的教学项目获国家教学成果二等奖1项。个人获国家教学名师奖、全国师德标兵、宝钢全国高校优秀教师特等奖、徐芝纶力学奖和全国五一劳动奖章等。培养出7人获国家杰青、长江学者特聘教授、青年长江、优青、青拔、全国优博及提名、中国力学优博、教育部新世纪人才和国际奖励等16人次。
